Yo hablo español.
I received my MA of Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and have worked as an individual, adolescent, couple and family, and group therapist in environments including community-based clinics and programs, residential treatment, and private practice since starting clinical work in 2014. I have had the opportunity to study under and consult with incredible practitioners who continue to inform my work today. Alongside my clinical practice, I helped build one of the first non-profit psychedelic therapy training clinics in the country, as well as cofounded an advocacy organization supporting the development of ethical business practices in the emerging psychedelic industry. I also have a background teaching and consulting in corporate and nonprofit settings, and now enjoy teaching and mentoring clinicians. I engage in ongoing personal and professional development in order to continue refining my capacity to support my clients reach their goals.
Prior to becoming a therapist, my studies and work have taken me from Arizona and New York to Ecuador and Argentina in fields ranging from visual arts and politics to social justice and advocacy work supporting underserved and at-risk communities. Following, I began a path that has led to over fifteen years studying within several Eastern as well as psychedelic and entheogen-based wisdom traditions. During many of those years I taught yoga and assisted a former mentor in establishing a new alignment-based vinyasa yoga method. This base of philosophical and phenomenological knowledge and practice has been profoundly meaningful to me and continues to inform how I support people in coming home to themselves through embodied inquiry.
As someone who has navigated chronic pain and illness from a young age, my clinical work is shaped by my understanding that it is often our greatest suffering that, when turned toward, expands our capacity to also experience joy, love, and a profound sense of aliveness. In my experience, it is in facing our challenges and limitations - perceived or real; internal or external - that we can tap into our most genuine sense of who we are, what matters to us, and a greater capacity to live in alignment with those truths. If we work together I will assist you in cultivating courageous, compassionate awareness of your gifts, vulnerabilities, and longings, and, in doing so, help you tap into the wellspring of life-force that allows you to nurture a rich and meaningful life.
